This is a craft exchange project between Japan and Sweden by Shogo Hirata and Lisa Juntunen Roos. The exhibitors have combined Swedish weaving and pattern traditions with Japanese weaving techniques in a new kind of fabric. This fusion is a representation of the friendship between Sweden and Japan. The fabric is made in collaboration with Shimogawa Orimono – a traditional Kurume-kasuri weaving mill in Yame, Fukuoka.
